Maharashtrian Chicken Curry Recipe
Here are the ingredients that you need.
- 1 kilogram of chicken, chopped according to your preferred size
- 2 large onions, each cut into four
- 2 large tomatoes, chopped
- 2 large potatoes, cut into cubes
- 2 green chilies, sliced (if you want to make it spicy)
- 1 tablespoon of garlic paste
- 3 tablespoons of freshly grated coconut
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
- 2 teaspoons of coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- A cup of coconut milk
- Coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
What you need to do is to:
- In a food processor, put the powdered spices, grated coconut,
onion, ginger paste, and the garlic paste. Grind it to create a
paste-like texture.
- Start heating the vegetable oil in the pan and add the paste.
Fry and stir it until the oil will separate itself from the masala.
- Put the chicken and wait until it is cooked or the meat turns to
white.
- Add the potatoes, green chillies, coconut milk, and a dash of
salt. Don’t forget to stir it very well
- Once the potato and the chicken are cooked, add the tomatoes and
let it stand for 3 minutes.
- Add coriander leaves as a garnish to the curry dish and serve.
